The hardest tools to learn are the ones most vital to our growth.
This is a timeline of my experience using COMSOL for the first time in my fluids course during fall 2021.
First lab was designing a 2D dimensional conduction solver.
Second lab we started using Computational Fluid Dynamics to analyze properties of an airfoil of our choosing.
Third Lab was learning to research and use a turbulence model of our choosing to model a breakout hole for a turbine. I had decided to use the SST turbulence model because it was commonly used for industrial applications due to it’s low reynolds number.

For our final research study, myself and my partners Tue Nguyen and Dillan Tran, we used COMSOL Multiphysics to anaylze how the drag force experienced by the tesla front hood and the temperature of the front hood compared to a commercial pickup truck.
Impact of drag force compared between Tesla Cybertruck and Ford F-150.
